Trip planner · Japan first

Your wishes, turned into a day plan.

Swipe through what you want to see in each city. Shu Shu turns your picks into a day-by-day plan, with opening hours, travel days and the dates you need to book. We're starting with Japan.

The prototype runs in your browser and works best on a phone.

The Shu Shu app on an iPhone: a map of Japan with the route Tokyo, Fuji, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Osaka, a countdown of 13 days to departure, and each city as a colored band.

How it works

Three steps from wish list to plan

  1. Choose the length of your trip

Pick a route and Shu Shu sets the cities and nights. You can switch later and see what changes first.

    • Short · 8 days
    • Medium · 14 days
    • Long · 21 days
  2. Swipe per city

One card at a time: the top picks first, then extras and food. Say what you want, what you skip and what you must see.

    • Skip
    • Must
    • I'm in
  3. Get your day plan and booking deadlines

Shu Shu spreads your picks over the days, checks opening hours and closing days, and tells you when each booking opens.

    • Day plan
    • Deadlines in JST

What you get

Everything for the trip, on one phone

From the first idea to the day itself. Plan together: the same trip code on two phones gives one shared plan.

  • The board: route map, days to departure and the cities as colored bands with how many stops are in.

    The board

Your whole trip at a glance: route, dates, and how far you are in each city.

  • A swipe card for Arashiyama in Kyoto with a photo of the bamboo grove and the buttons Skip, Must and I'm in.

    Swiping

Every stop is a card with a photo, how long it takes and the best time to go.

  • The day plan: day by day per city, with travel between cities and the must-sees marked.

    Day plan

Day by day, morning to evening, with travel days and rain plans built in.

  • What to book when: each booking with the date it opens in your time and in Japan time, a reference field and a booked checkbox.

    Booking deadlines JST

When each booking opens, in your time and in Japan time, so you don't miss the slot.

  • Today: the current day of the trip with what's on now, opening hours, a route button and options to mark it done or move it to tomorrow.

    Today, on the road

What's on now, opening hours, the route there, and one tap to move something to tomorrow.

The route

FAQ

Questions

When can I download Shu Shu?

We're building the app now. Join the waitlist and we'll send you one email when it's in the App Store and Google Play. Until then you can try the prototype.

Is it only for Japan?

For now, yes. Japan is the first country we've researched stop by stop, with opening hours, closing days and booking rules. More countries follow once Japan works well.

Does Shu Shu book things for me?

No. Shu Shu is a planner, not a booking agent. It tells you what to book and when the booking opens; you book directly with the venue, the railway or the tour provider.

Can I plan together with my travel companion?

Yes. Enter the same trip code on two phones and you share one plan. One purchase unlocks the trip for everyone who uses that trip code.

Is it a subscription?

No. Planning starts free with 5 swipes a day. The full trip is €19.99, paid once per trip. There is no subscription and nothing renews.

Are the opening hours always right?

We check every stop against its own source and show the date we checked. Places can still change their hours or close at short notice, so check the official site before you go. Something off? Tell us in the app with "Something's off".
